When it comes to the NXT women’s division, Xia Li is someone who has been bubbling underneath for a while. With a great look and her martial arts influenced style, she is just a few big victories from becoming a star.
Mia Yim is in a similar situation, but has squandered the major opportunities she has been handed. She failed to get the NXT Women’s Championship off Shayna Baszler, failed to get the advantage for team Ripley at War Games, and then failed to even make it to the match. While Xia needs wins to get herself to a major role in the division, Mia needs them get back on track.
Xia Li defeats Mia Yim
They would shake hands and show respect to each other a firm handshake, but as the bell rang Xia would force Mia into the corner of the ring with a flurry of offense. Her kicks can do some serious damage, and Mia Yim knows this. They would have a decent back and forth match, but nothing remarkable.
Things would only get interesting when Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzales would come onto the ramp uninvited. Their presence would distract Mia, allowing Xia Li to execute a quick roll up to steal the biggest win in her NXT career.
She wouldn’t get much of a chance to enjoy the victory however, as Gonzales would make her way to the ring and ragdoll both competitors. They would both be brutalized by the heavyweight before she would leave alongside Dakota Kai.
Will Yim & Li Team Up For Revenge?
After this humiliating beatdown, and having their match interrupted, both Li & Yim have a bone to pick with Gonzales & Kai. We can expect to see them join forces in the near future to face the heels in a tag team encounter, giving Raquel Gonzales her first match on NXT TV in quite some time. It will be her first match in her new persona, and likely the first of many victories as well.
It wouldn’t shock many to see Gonzales quickly become a contender for Rhea Ripley, as she has a clear size and power advantage over the majority of the divison. Ripley can match her power however, and it would be a hard hitting affair.
