Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Results!
Tonight looks like it’s going to be a fun one with the New Day looking to win the Unified Tag Team Championships to save their record and the WWE World Cup officially begins!
Without further ado, let’s get to the action!
WWE Unified Tag Team Championship – The Usos (Jimmy, Jey) vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods)
Jey and Woods started it off, and after feeling each other out the Usos went to the floor to regroup and Kofi hit a crossbody off the top rope as we headed to commercial.
Back from the break, the Usos retook control and slammed Kofi into the barricade and Jey talked trash to him in the ring.
The fans chanted they want Sami, but it didn’t take the Usos off their game as Jimmy kept working Kofi over and tearing at his face in the ropes.
The action ramped up as the Usos kept antagonizing Woods and knocking him off the apron while they continued to hammer on Kofi for pin attempts.

Woods tagged in and took it to Jimmy with a dropkick, and then fought off Jay with a Side Russian Legsweep and a gutbuster on Jimmy for a near pinfall.
The New Day fired off a double team and Kofi hit a splash for a near pinfall,
Jey hit a step up on Kofi and sent him to the floor, but Woods blind tagged in. Jey caught him with a superkick, and Jimmy tagged in and they hit stereo superkicks on both the New Day.
They followed with a double Uso Splash on Woods but Woods kicked out.
The New day turned it around and went on a tear and hit a Midnight Hour on Jimmy for a near pinfall, but Jey broke it up.
Kofi fought off a double superplex, but the Usos caught him in mid air with a 1-D for the win.
This was an awesome match! The Usos have earned their championship laurels.
Backstage, the Usus celebrated, but Roman Reigns remained straight faced but then congratulated them and said now that they got that done, it’s time for him to handle some stuff and he wants them at his side.
Smackdown World Cup Round 1: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Santos Escobar w/Legado Del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro and Zelina Vega)
They started fast as Escobar caught Nakamura with a dropkick off the ropes, and stayed one step ahead until Nakamura caught him on the apron and hit a knee drop before throwing Escobar into the barricade.

Nakamura kept up the heat as he fired off a series of kicks and a sliding bomb for a near pinfall.
Nakamura kicked out of a roll up and hit a spinning kick, but Escobar was dragged out of the ring by his stablemates and Nakamura took them out before heading to the top rope.
Escobar met him with a kick and hit a Phantom Driver off the top rope for the win.
