Earlier this year, we would see Bobby Fish leave All Elite Wrestling after barely spending a year in the company. Part of the reason for this was he wanted to leave his schedule more open for other exploits, with Fish keen on making his debut in the world of boxing. A man of his word, Fish would find his way back into the ring for his debut boxing fight last night – and was able to come out with a knockout victory.
Bobby Fish Successful In Boxing Debut
Fighting for Global Titans, Bobby Fish went head to head with Boateng Prempeh (who entered the fight with a 2-3-0 record). In just the second round of the fight, Fish would win by TKO. Fish nailed a body blow, with Prempeh falling to his knees and being unable to reach his feet before the count of ten. During the fight, Fish would almost attempt a suplex when the two clinched, but remembered this was not a wrestling match.
This victory means Bobby Fish now has a 1-0 record in the world of boxing, but it is unclear how serious he is about continuing. At 46 years old, Fish isn’t exactly in his physical prime – and while he remains in fantastic shape, learning a new skillset like boxing and going deep in the sport wouldn’t be the easiest endeavour. Fish has remained active in professional wrestling as well, recently challenging Josh Alexander for the Impact Wrestling World Championship.
It is unclear if we will ever see Fish in either AEW or WWE again, with some still holding out hope that we could see The Undisputed Era vs. The Elite in AEW. Currently Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly are both injured, and The Elite are being teased to return to the ring at Full Gear following a suspension after a backstage brawl with CM Punk.
