Prince Harry Pens Emotional Letter To Mark Remembrance Sunday
Remembrance Sunday is held on the second Sunday of November in order to pay homage to all those who have died in protecting the country in wars.
And this is something that Harry is well aware of after having served in the British Armed forces during his time in Afghanistan.
Not only that, but the Duke of Sussex does have a soft spot for military personnel as shown through his commitment towards the Invictus Games.
With that being said, Harry wrote a letter for the Scotty’s Little Soldiers, an organization that goes out of its way to support the children of those who have seen their family die as military veterans.
In his letter, Harry wrote: “As many of us observe and reflect on Remembrance Sunday, I wanted to write to you and let you know you are all in my thoughts and heart today.
“We share a bond even without ever meeting one another, because we share in having lost a parent.” Harry is aware of what it is like to have lost loved ones, even if it was not in the context of military combat.
His mother, Princess Diana, died following a tragic car crash in Paris, France. And at the time of that incident, Harry was just 12-years-old.
His grief was compounded by the fact that he had to walk behind the coffin of his mother, alongside his brother Prince William. And after having gone through something traumatic such as this, he encouraged all those who needed help to rely on each other.
His following comments confirmed as much: “Whenever you need a reminder of [your strength], I encourage you to lean into your friends at Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
“We all know some days are harder than others, but together those are made easier.” At a time of remembrance, Harry’s words highlighted the importance of sticking together.
So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
