Since the high of HHH taking over creative duties a few months back, Monday Night Raw has been getting worse and worse while Friday Night Smackdown has been getting better and better. Although it is still way more watchable now than when Vince was running the show, it is still a grind to get through the three hours of random storylines and matches that we all know is going nowhere for the most part.
Here are some of the reasons why Monday Night Raw is getting the shaft creatively.
What Exactly is the Issue with Monday Night Raw
The biggest issue with Monday Night Raw that makes the show a bother to watch is everyone knowing that many things on the show is going absolutely no where.
Even though the matches have reasons for them to happen and they aren’t typically just randomly thrown together matches, which is great, what is the end goal for the match or the feud?
What do they hope to accomplish? What is it building to? Looking at this past Monday Night Raw, there was a lot of interesting matchups and segments happening but with only two titles on a three hour show versus four titles for a two hour show, I think we can all see what the issue really is.
It seems like the only thing that WWE is doing with three hours is getting wrestlers over for no reason. Everyone cannot go after the United States or Raw Women’s title.
Also, there are sometimes questionable finishes to matches and angles. I am the first person to say let storylines and segments that clearly aren’t finished play out to see where it goes before passing judgement on it as a whole, but sometimes you can’t just let things pass by especially if you can’t imagine what the outcome will be.
An example of this is that I love Chad Gable and think that he should be getting more victories and television time based on his charisma and in ring skill, but why is he getting a random victory over Matt Riddle?
There was no reason for the match to happen for real but with it happening, just why?
