When Edge returned from injury, he’d list off names he wanted to wrestle in WWE. The Miz wasn’t on this list, and would make his return to take offence to this. After some heated verbal exchanges, these two WWE veterans will clash tonight on the first WWE PPV of the year. The Miz got the first blow in with a Skull Crushing Finale on Monday Night RAW, but will this just fire the Rated R Superstar up?

Edge Turns Back The Clock For A Big Entrance

With Maryse in his corner, The Miz would hit the ring. Edge meanwhile would bring back the entrance of The Brood. Rising up from a ring of fire, he’d show The Miz that he was truly getting the Old Edge that he wanted – before moving into his usual entrance. It helps that Edge has two of the best theme songs in WWE history at his disposal.

Miz would start off fast with a big hip toss, before taking some time to taunt in the corner. Edge would pace himself and win the next lockup, before blocking the hip toss into two of his own. The Miz narrowly avoided the crossface, but after a jackknife cover, had to avoid it once again.

On the outside, Maryse ran a distraction. Edge would be shoved into the ring post, and back in the ring took a boot to the face. Miz would grab the ankle of Edge and twist away, before losing control and missing a clothesline in the corner – and being spiked down with a DDT. Edge would follow up with a backbreaker, getting a two count.

Miz was able to send Edge outside, but got tripped up on the apron. Edgecution onto the floor would crush the face of Miz, but a slow path back to the ring just granted a two count. Miz would respond by taking Edge outside and slamming him off the announce table, before looking for more damage.

Skull Crushing Finale was blocked, and Edge hit the Half nelson bulldog onto the announce table. Back in the ring, Edge hit a flying crossbody for a two count. Another attempt at Skull Crushing Finale was blocked into a roll up – before Miz failed to get the Figure Four Leg Lock.

    Beth Phoenix Is Back!

Edge would be launched into the ring post after another roll up attempt – and Miz finally applied the Figure Four. Miz would fail to do more than piss Edge off, before Miz moved into the STF. Edge would counter into an attempt at the crossface attempt.

Miz would go for another Figure Four Leg Lock, but ended up in the Crossface in the middle of the ring. Maryse would get the foot of The Miz onto the ropes to save him, before he’d be rolled up for two off a backslide before both men went for big boots.

Miz was back to his feet first, but made the mistake of going to the top rope. Edge hit a super hip toss, and looked to follow up with The Spear. Miz jumped over the spear, Maryse hit Edge with something and Miz would get two off the Skull Crushing Finale.

Here to eject Maryse from ringside was Beth Phoenix, who waited for her music before slowly stalking after Maryse. Back in the ring, Edge was ready for the spear, and took Miz down as he turned back to the match.

Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
