Yesterday evening was the final episode of AEW Dynamite before we reach Full Gear on Saturday. One of the biggest matches of the night came as AEW World Trio’s Champions Death Triangle would defend their titles against AR Fox & a reunited Top Flight. It was a spectacle of a match, with all six men capable of inhuman feats of agility. Coming into this match, AR Fox was a free agent – but that might not remain the case moving forward.
AR Fox Is Offered AEW Contract
Following their match on AEW Dynamite, camera would catch up with Fox & Top Flight backstage. Lexy Nair would ask Fox how it felt to make his debut on AEW Dynamite, with him calling it an unbelievable experience. Dante Martin would call Fox a legend, and expressed how nice it was to once again be able to team with his brother Darius Martin, who was shelved due to a car accident earlier this year.
Darius Martin was great to be back, and talked about his recovery from an ACL tear and following car accident. The interview would end as word arrived from Tony Khan, officially offering AR Fox a contract with All Elite Wrestling. While no official confirmation on Fox accepting this offer was seen during the interview, it’s unlikely he will turn the offer down.
The AEW Trio’s Division Is Quickly Becoming Must See
Over his 15 year career, Fox’s biggest chance came as a member of the Lucha Underground roster, where he was known as Dante Fox. His “Hell Of War” match with Killshot (Swerve Strickland) remains one of the most praised in the history of Lucha Underground, but Fox never got a chance to join the WWE roster. Now, he has a chance to finally show his skills to the world on a frequent basis.
It’s very likely that Fox & Top Flight will continue as a trio in AEW, with the trios division likely being a focal point in 2023. The Elite are returning from suspension this Saturday at Full Gear, where they will challenge Death Triangle for the titles. A match between The Elite and Top Flight/AR Fox seems a likely choice in the coming weeks.
