When you look at the budding career of Utami Hayashishita – it’s hard to not already compare her to Hiroshi Tanahashi. At just 24 years old, she’s been viewed as a master talent – and tonight will team up with The Ace of The Universe for a mixed tag team match. Meanwhile, both Hirooki Goto & Maika have a deep respect for Japanese tradition and heritage, making them another natural tag team. Both teams share aesthetics and mentalities for professional wrestling, making this the most interesting of the three mixed tag team matches on tonight’s PPV.
Hiroshi Tanahashi & Utami Hayashishita Show Their Dominance
Maika would start with Tanahashi, before settling for meeting Utami in the ring. A tight headlock would be applied, with Maika able to fight free and tag Goto. Tanahashi would catch Goto with an armdrag, before a stalemate in the middle of the ring. Tanahashi & Utami would work together on stomping Maika, before Utami officially got the tag.
Utami & Maika would meet again, with Maika flaunting her power with a big suplex, but gloating while Utami set up a German Suplex. Goto would hit a running shoulder tackle, before the spinning heel kick and bulldog out of the corner. Tanahashi would bait the kick from Goto, blocking with a Dragon Screw before being dropped with a slingblade.
Utami & Maika would meet in the ring with shoulder tackles, with Maika winning out. The power of Utami would follow, with a deadlift German Suplex. Goto & Tanahashi hit the ring, hitting headbutts in tandem with Maika. Maika would hit a Fisherman Buster, before Tanahashi got her in the jaw with a palm strike.
Utami would hit Goto with a Slingblade, before Maika got her revenge with a backdrop driver to The Ace. Maika would be caught with the Torture Rack Bomb before the Highjack Bomb for the victory. Before they left to the back, they’d rock out with some air guitar – giving the fan exactly what they wanted.
United Empire Come Out With The Victory
Tetsuya Naito came up short on November 5th against Tetsuya Naito, blocking off another potential path to Wrestle Kingdom. Now he looks forward to World Tag League, where he will team up with SANADA – who came up short against Ren Narita on the same night. Perhaps their most dangerous foes in the coming tournament are former NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Champions Aussie Open. Add in BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi and Shingo Takagi on the L.I.J side, and TJP, Francesco Akira & Gideon Grey on the United Empire side – and we have an explosive ten man tag.
Grey would start the match by trying to beat Shingo down, akin to a fly biting a komodo dragon. However, going for the eyes would work briefly, before Shingo hit a sliding lariat. If United Empire wasn’t there, this match would have been over. BUSHI would apply a Greco Roman Groin Press to Grey, before Naito would grab the cane and use it as a weapon – breaking it over his stomach.
Grey would finally tag out, getting TJP in alongside Hiromu Takahashi. He’d cut Hiromu down, before BUSHI would be dropped just as quick. Shingo would roll to the floor, with Akira taking him down with a dive. SANADA & Davis would meet in the ring, with SANADA launched onto his face. BUSHI & stand against Fletcher, nailing a snap DDT. Naito would assist in a dropkick, before Grey broke the pinfall up. Davis & Shingo would clash briefly, before Aussie Open singled out BUSHI. Rewind kick caught Fletcher, but Aussie Open nailed Corealis for the win.
