As we hit the halfway mark of this tournament, it’s more important than ever for teams to accumulate some points. Wild Hips have only won a single match, as have KUSHIDA & Kevin Knight – and tonight, they open the show together. Someone will get those important next points, and adding some tension is the fact that Clark Connors is a LA Dojo graduate, while Knight is still in his training – meaning a loss would be an insult.

Before the bell rang, Knight would be asked by Taguchi if he’s a Young Lion, and Knight responded claiming he’s ‘Too Fly’ now, perhaps indicating he’s already moving beyond Young Lion status. With new orange gear, he’s moved away from the Young Lion aesthetic – and tonight, has a chance to prove he deserves to move away from rookie status.

Kevin Knight Might Be ‘Too Fly’ But That Won’t Stop A Wild Rhino

Knight would start this match against Taguchi, teasing a dropkick before locking up with Taguchi in the middle of the ring. Taguchi would get a wrist lock, with Knight wrestling his way free and applying a wrist lock of his own. Knight would be taken down to the mat with a leg lock, but slipped free into a front headlock.

Both men found their feet, with Knight thrown into the corner but avoiding the running hip attack and hitting a springboard crossbody. KUSHIDA & Connors would get tags, with KUSHIDA hitting a shoulder tackle before having his arm drag scouted – taking a double axe handle on the mat. A blind tag to Knight would see Connors tripped up and kicked in the arm.

Knight would be nearly sent from the ring with the Jeep Flip, but was able to make the tag to KUSHIDA. Taguchi rushed him down with a hip attack, before the B-Trigger on the rope, with Taguchi then slipping to the floor and hitting a rising hip attack, proving he’s got the versatile rear end in wrestling. Back in the ring, Three Amigos would be countered, but a punch to the groin area would not.

Connors would sling Taguchi into some flying hip attacks, before KUSHIDA dodged in the corner before tripping Connors into the crotch of his partner. Timesplitter Dropkick would follow, before Knight hit some running splashes. Knight would hit the body slam on Connors, before a standing twisting splash for a two count.

Connors would be taken up onto the shoulders of KUSHIDA, and levelled with the dropkick of Knight – with Taguchi breaking the following pinfall up. Knight would have Taguchi launched into him with a hip attack, before Connors went up top and cut Knight down with a spear and the Trophy Kill.

    Catch 2/2 Defend Gideon Grey

House of Torture have not been having a good time in either World Tag League or Super Junior Tag League, having not won a single match. Tonight – it’s do or die for SHO & Dick Togo, as a loss will mean mathematical elimination. Making the situation all the worse is that they’re up against the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions – Catch 2/2. If SHO & Togo only get a single win in this tournament, they’ll want to make it this one – even though the odds are stacked heavily against them.

Togo & SHO would attack before the bell, even going after Gideon Grey – allowing Catch 2/2 to take them out with dropkicks. TJP would set up a Russian Leg Sweep on SHO as Akira rushed in with a neckbreaker, getting a two count. SHO would counter an Irish Whip, and distract the referee while Togo got a cheap punch in.

Out on the floor, TJP was held in place for a PK off the apron before Akira took one as well. Back in the ring, TJP would be dropped throat first on the bottom rope, before Togo would set up the running fist drop for a two count. SHO would go after the eyes of TJP during a chinlock, before TJP broke free and hit the tornado DDT. Akira would roll SHO into a double stomp, before SHO would use the referee as a shield and nail the spear.

United Empire Don’t Allow House Of Torture To Get The Numbers Advantage

TJP hit the ring alongside Togo, nailing the springboard lariat but missing the Mamba Splash. Togo would hit a lariat and sunset flip, getting a two count before locking in the crossface – with TJP able to get his foot on the bottom rope. TJP would avoid the Pedigree and set up the Pinoy Stretch. EVIL & Yujiro Takahashi would come to ringside and threaten Gideon Grey, only for Aussie Open to show them why that’s the wrong move.

SHO would be shoved out of the ring, but when he went for his wrench – Akira had stolen it. He’d throw it to TJP, who feigned injury Eddie Guerrero Style, setting up a dropkick to the back of SHO. Two By Two Kick to Togo would follow, and House of Torture take another loss.

Will House of Torture get even a single win during this tournament? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
