Howard Stern didn’t hold back when sharing his thoughts on the Netflix documentary about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Howard Stern Says Watching The Series Was “Horrible”
After watching Harry & Meghan on Mediaite, Stern, 68, remarked on Monday, December 12, on Sirius XM’s The Howard Stern Show, “It’s been horrible.” “I wouldn’t stay with it, but my wife [Beth Ostrosky Stern] wants to watch it. You know, we have shows we watch. But they come off like such whiny bitches. I gotta tell you, man; I just don’t get it.” Harry & Meghan’s first three episodes made their Netflix premiere on December 8.

Along with previously unseen images and videos, the docuseries detailed how the couple met and their engagement. Interviews with members of their inner circle were also included in the six-part documentary, but the shock jock wasn’t impressed. “I get Prince Harry being pissed off at the monarchy for his mother,” Stern said, referring to the late Princess Diana, who died in 1997. “They treated her like s–t … I feel bad for Prince Harry losing his mother. So you got my empathy there.
But Jesus Christ, when those two starts whining about ‘Wah wah wah, and they don’t like me’ — and [Meghan] wants to be beloved in this country, but man, oh man.” Stern claimed that the pair gave him the wrong impression, especially in light of the remarks they recorded on their smartphones before the news of their Netflix contract.
“It’s just very weird to watch two people who keep screaming, ‘We wanted our privacy, we wanted the press to leave us alone,’ And then what is their special that they put out on Netflix? Showing you them and their kids and their life. It’s like The Kardashians — except boring,” the radio personality said, adding that he “found it troubling.”
In 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex retired from their positions as senior royals. They released their first explosive tell-all special in March 2021, and the Netflix series covers a large portion of what was revealed in the CBS interview. Stern questioned whether this was their new career course. “Where do you go with this?
Is this your career? Talking about how humiliated you were part of, and I don’t know, living in a castle — it’s hard to relate to,” the New York native remarked. “It looks pretty terrific to me. … I guess they’re off the royal payroll, so they’ve gotta make a buck.” Stern even predicted that the couple, who wed in May 2018, would eventually divorce. “I think he’s eventually not going to dig her.
I’m telling you. She’s a little bit …” he trailed off. The host already has a preconceived notion, but there are still three more episodes to change his mind. On Thursday, December 15, the first three of Harry & Meghan’s final three episodes will be released on Netflix. Earlier this month, Meghan and Harry responded to privacy concerns through a spokeswoman.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s global press secretary, Ashley Hansen, released a statement on Thursday, the same day the show debuted online, stating that their announcement of their decision to step back made no mention of privacy and reaffirmed their desire to carry on with their roles and public responsibilities. “Any suggestion otherwise speaks to a key point of this series. They are choosing to share their story on their terms.”
