It has been long since the outlets brand Elon Musk a republican. He doesn’t even shy away from this. One of the first things he did after acquiring Twitter is unbanning Donald Trump’s Twitter profile.
The billionaire showed his followers a glimpse of the first rows at the world cup, as he posted a video from the event. He filmed the stadium and then turned his phone to the countries’ flags.
“At the World Cup now.” – Elon Musk tweeted.
This year has been a turbulent one for Elon Musk. Aside from the fact that his fortune dropped by more than $100 billion, he made several new acquisitions and found himself in many controversies. In early April, he announced that he is entering the social media business. Six months later, he bought Twitter.
Since then, he has been the subject of much criticism about how he leads the company and the changes he implemented. Among other things, Elon Musk is famous for making impulsive tweets. At one point over these 6 months, the billionaire announced he will buy Manchester United.
“I am buying Manchester United. Ur welcome.” – Elon Musk tweeted back in May. “They were my fav team as a kid.”
However, he later told them that he was just joking. Owning a football club is not on his list of interests.
“No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams.” – he wrote in a following tweet.
Elon Musk is in business since 1995. This is a time when he and his brother started a company called Zip2 which sold for a significant amount, allowing Elon Musk to proceed with his business endeavors.
With his pay from Zip2, Elon Musk started Xcom. This is one of the first online banks. A company that would later merge and become one with PayPal.
Elon Musk holds the all-time record for the highest net worth. At one point his wealth reached an all time high of more than $300 billion. At the moment he is still in first place on the list, however, his net worth plummeted to around $210 billion.
