Recently fans of All Elite Wrestling would see a segment between former AEW World Tag Team Champions Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland. What was supposed to be a face to face confrontation would lead to Swerve forming a new faction to take down Lee – known as Mogul Affiliates. The most recognizable member outside of Swerve is rap legend Rick Ross, who gave one of the best AEW soundbytes of the year when he randomly exclaimed “You a big motherfu**er” after taking a good look at Keith Lee.
Rick Ross Was Taken Back By How Big Keith Lee Was
While calling into Busted Open Radio, Ross would get a chance to explain what led to this moment.
“It was real cool. I got up close on Keith Lee and realized how big his traps was. Me up close to him, he looked like he weighs between 360-370. He’s a big motherfu**er.”
When asked if he got in trouble for this comment, Ross had the following to say.
“I’m taking you behind the scenes. This is the biggest boss in the game, Ricky Rozay, so no one can tell me what to say. You see, it was a gift for me to be there. But I love AEW, but it was a huge gift. When I got in there, I may have had other things on my mind. But like I said, when Keith Lee kind of turned his back to me and I realized the size and width of his shoulders and his trapezoids, I just had to express my heart. He’s a big motherfu**er. He really is.”
Ross Likely Will Not Be Punished For This
It remains unclear if Ross will continue appearing alongside Swerve Strickland in AEW, but this moment will be one that fans don’t forget. AEW would recently crack down on crude language on their shows, with Ace Steel notably being fined for swearing during an on-screen segment with CM Punk ahead of All Out 2022.
However, if someone like Rick Ross comes onto the show, it’s kind of hard to punish them if they say something like this. He will get different treatment than contracted talent, and it’s hard to deny it didn’t elevate an otherwise bad segment. This is not the first time someone was shocked by the size of Keith Lee, with Brock Lesnar being surprised when confronted by Lee during the 2020 Royal Rumble.
