The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has creative methods of reprimanding her kids when they act up in front of others.
Kate Middleton Has A Unique Way Of Disciplining Her Kids For Bad Behaviour-Says Parenting Specialist Angela Karanja
In the start of 2021, the Royal Family presided over a commemorative ceremony in the honour of the late Prince Philip, who passed away in April of the previous year while the world was struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the service, Middleton was seen hushing her daughter, Princess Charlotte, by putting her index finger over her mouth and making a “shh” gesture. Angela Karanja, a specialist in parenting, shed light on the excellent parenting tactics employed by the Princess at the time.
She said: “I think what’s even more important is that Kate did not just correct, i.e. telling Charlotte to ‘shh’ and be quiet at that pivotal moment, but she took time to connect.
“Throughout the event, especially notably at the beginning, there were several moments of connection.” Much in the same way, Kate was also very firm when trying to control Prince Louis during an attendance at Wimbledon.
During the course of that process, Louis began to act up by pulling several faces. This was an awkward moment since it was captured on camera in front of the world. And yet, Kate was praised for the patience that she continued to show.
One observer at the time remarked: “He’s only just turned four, she stopped it turning into a complete scene. I think it’s good to see their kids behaving ‘normally’ & not like little robots.
“I think they all did really well this past few days. Kate especially.” Ultimately, there is no single correct way of parenting as each person will have their own style.
And given that children do differ, it is not an exact science. But this is something that Kate will have gotten used to since she does have three children.
