Sasha Banks is officially a free agent in professional wrestling, with her WWE contract coming to an end alongside 2022 as a year. She’s rumoured to be appearing in New Japan Pro Wrestling to challenge for the newly introduced IWGP Women’s Championship, currently held by KAIRI. However, a debut for All Elite Wrestling is not out of the question, with Saraya potentially bringing Banks in as a partner for a tag team match – and feels she deserves to be a star in wrestling in 2023.
Saraya Knows Sasha Banks Puts Butts In Seats
While Speaking to Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Saraya would speak on Sasha Banks, having the following to say.
“I love the fact that she took her career into her own hands, and she knows her worth and she knows she wants to be treated a certain way, and she deserves to be treated that way because she’s done a lot for the wrestling business. She’s one of the girls that puts butts in seats, and you want to see wrestle and you wanna see in the main event. She deserves all those things. Wherever she ends up, I’m gonna be happy for her, and anyone that gets her is gonna be very, very lucky. I just selfishly hope that I get to wrestle her one day. I don’t know if she’d want to because she’d probably be scared to wrestle me again.”
Banks Could Be A Few Days From Being All Elite
Banks was the one to put Saraya on the shelf for five years with a kick gone wrong during a WWE Live Event. It’s very likely there is zero bad blood between the two, with Saraya more pointing out that Banks would likely be anxious to work a match against Saraya, not wanting to cause another injury. Saraya has in the past said that the injury was her own fault, putting zero blame on Banks.
Saraya is set to face Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter in a tag team match on January 11th, with her partner remaining a mystery. Due to AEW being unable to promote it potentially being Banks until her WWE contract was officially up, they’ve just left this incredibly vague until now – with more details set to be revealed on January 4th, when Banks will still be in Japan.
