A guard assigned to the Royal Family at Windsor Castle has been criticised after releasing a video of himself seemingly idling away while on duty.
Outrage After Royal Guard Posts TikTok Of Himself On Duty Laughing About Watching Two Ducks-‘Kick Him Out’
The short video, which has earned thousands of views on TikTok, showed him seemingly gazing at a duck. He can be heard saying the following: “I am currently standing outside Windsor Castle.
“I’m meant to be looking after the Royal Family. Currently staring at two ducks. Do I care? No.” For the first time since he became the monarch, King Charles III celebrated the Christmas festivities by organising a feast for the Royal Family at Windsor Castle.
This reunion was the biggest since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral which happened in September. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this was the first time the traditional gathering was taking place since 2019.
A lot of royals attended the event, such as the Queen Consort Camilla, but Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, their son Archie, and daughter Lilibet were not present since they were in the United States.
And given that Charles has already been subjected to two egg-throwing incidents, it was vital to have security on alert at all times. With that being said, the fans on social media were very vocal about the lack of enthusiasm that the guard was showing.
And in the process, the comments were very brutal. One person wrote: “Not only did he do it, but made a vid and circulated it. Probably he wanted it and they were not ready to let him go before the mandatory service was over.
“If he was that committed to serving, he’d never have done it,” while another person stated: “Some of them do these things purely to get out of the Army asap. Failing CDTs is a popular one. Kick him out as he’s not to be trusted or fit for purpose.”
