With this being the first show that AEW has run in Seattle, it was obvious that Bryan Danielson would find his way onto the card. Perhaps the biggest wrestler to ever come from the town, Danielson is a multi-time World Champion, and ended his 2022 with a victory over Ethan Page. With AEW World Champion MJF in his sights, Danielson might be looking past Tony Nese tonight – which could lead to the upset of the year on the first Dynamite of the year.

Bryan Danielson Runs Tony Nese Down, Calls Out MJF To Fight Him Tonight

Nese would think fast after having Josh Woods pull the ankle of Danielson from ringside. The hotshot over the top rope would set up the springboard moonsault, with Danielson able to avoid before taking the Running Nese – and kicking out at 2.9. Finally able to find his feet, Danielson would hit the roundhouse kicks in the corner.

Danielson was sent across the ring – and would vault over Nese before the running elbow strike. The Buzzsaw Kick would be blocked, with Nese hitting a School Boy Powerbomb into the corner, trying for the Running Nese again. Danielson would avoid this time, and nailed the Busaiku Knee. Nese would have his head stomped in, and was out by the time the Triangle Sleeper was locked in.

After this quick victory, Danielson had a chance to address the crowd – saying it’s great to be home. He’s feeling a bit froggy, and is ready for another fight – proceeding to call out the AEW World Champion himself MJF. MJF was mandated to show up tonight by Tony Khan, meaning he had no chance of avoiding this.

MJF would make sure he heard things right, with Danielson wanting to wrestle him tonight. If that’s the case, the answer is no – because he’s not risking his body wrestling on AEW Dynamite. He’s a special attraction for a reason, and that’s because seeing MJF wrestle is special.

Meanwhile, he sees nothing special about Danielson. If Lance Storm & Dean Malenko had a baby, that kid would still be more charismatic than Danielson. Just because he looks like a goat doesn’t make him the Greatest of All Time, with MJF going as far to insinuate that Danielson’s mother got with a goat.

Danielson Wants MJF In An Iron Man Match At AEW Revolution To Expose Him

MJF would say that he is the greatest wrestler in the world and the belt around his waist proves it. If Danielson was the greatest, he would have won it during his three chances in 2022. Danielson gets hyped up by fans and journalists who have never stepped in the ring, while MJF is hyped by LEGENDS like Disco Inferno, Eric Bischoff and Jim Cornette!

MJF would be told to shut up, as everyone is sick of his rambling. Danielson would be ready to rush down the ramp to kick MJF’s ass, but MJF would say that Danielson needs to do things right. He needs to become #1 contender, and that means Danielson needs wins. If Danielson can win a match EVERY week on AEW Dynamite between now and February 8th, Danielson will get a match with MJF for the title shot at AEW Revolution.

Danielson would disagree with this, saying he will get his shot the normal way – with MJF saying it’s his way or no way, and he’d use his lawyer Mark Sterling to ensure Danielson never gets a shot again. Danielson pointed out that Sterling is a HORRIBLE lawyer, but would humour MJF. If he does this, he wants to pick the stipulation. MJF would agree, and Danielson had a true test in mind – calling for a ONE HOUR IRON MAN MATCH.

Danielson would say this match will expose MJF for having bad fundamentals and cardio, those being the reasons he doesn’t work frequent matches. Once he exposes MJF, he’ll kick his head in and become AEW World Champion. It will not be an easy path for Danielson, but he’s never backed down from a challenge like this in his career.

Swerve Strickland Said He Has Unfinished Business With AR Fox

After defeating Wheeler Yuta to end 2022 on a high note, Swerve Strickland is looking to clean up some unfinished business. Back during his time in Lucha Underground as Killshot, one of his greatest matches came in a downright brutal ‘Hell of War’ match with Dante Fox, aka AR Fox. With Fox now signed to an AEW contract, Swerve is looking to pick up where they left off – and start is 2023 with a violent bang.

Swerve would go after the legs of Fox as the match began, only to be thrown to the floor. Fox would float out to the floor, only Swerve to put him back in. They would prove they’re still equally matched in terms of agility, with Fox getting the first blow with a moonsault. Swerve would be tripped in the ring before Fox rolled Swerve up into a brainbuster for a two count.

Parker Boudreaux and the Tattooed Man would lure Fox to the floor, allowing for Swerve to hit a boot to the face. Swerve kept the pressure on with a diving uppercut in the ring for a one count. Fox would be able to find his feet, only to be run down with another lariat. Swerve was trying to keep Fox from moving too much, but took an enziguri. Fox looked for a cutter with Swerve blocking with a German Suplex and a Flatliner for the two count.

Swerve would be set up in the corner for the Iconoclast Slam before the 450 Splash for a two count. Parker would pass Swerve a weapon, allowing him to punch Fox out and hit a Death Valley Driver from the top off the apron. Swerve Stomp would follow, and this match was over.

How far can Swerve Strickland go in 2023 before Keith Lee returns? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
