Prince Harry’s stance of being “not religious” opposes the deeply held religious views of his grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II and his father King Charles III.
Prince Harry Admits He Isn’t Religious-‘ If He Had An Ounce Of Faith, He Never Would Have Done What He Has Done’
This may come as a shock to say the least since the firm is known for having very close connections to the Church of England.
The Duke of Sussex, however, recalled the subject in his memoir, Spare, amid a hunting experience during his younger years in Scotland.
In his book, Harry wrote: “I wasn’t religious, but this ‘blood facial’ was, to me, baptismal. [It was] an act of communion by the slayer.”
Blooding is known as the concept of allowing new people who are entering hunting to initiate themselves via this ritual. It is also alleged to show dignity and respect to the animal killed.
Aside from that, Harry recalled an incident in Botswana where he came across a leopard. The Duke viewed this as a sign from his mother, Princess Diana, to reassure him that things would be fine, even though she was no longer alive.
Although that may have been the case, when it came to Charles, Harry showed a different side. Charles has previously described himself as an ‘Anglian Christian’, and this is something that Harry disclosed more on.
His following comments confirmed as much: “He prayed every night, but now, in this moment, I too felt close to God.” The fans on social media were outraged towards Harry.
A significant proportion of people were of the view that his comments about his family suggested that he did not care about being ethical and religious at all.
One person wrote: “If he had an ounce of faith and dedication he never would have behaved and done what he has done the past few years. There is a very very large red hot rock waiting for him to sit on till it is cold.”
