    – Since our last update on the first few episodes of AEW on TNT, much has been announced! First off, Shawn Spears will be facing Jon Moxley on on Episode 2, coming out of Boston, Mass. With only an appearance being announced for Episode 1, this will presumably be Moxley’s first match on TNT. It’s likely to be Spears’ first as well, given the stated policy of cycling out talent week-to-week. Both of these two will be coming off of major singles matches at All Out. Spears will be going up against Cody Rhodes whilst Moxley takes on Kenny Omega. This takes place October 9th.

Plus, two title matches are now set for Episode 3 in Philly! They’ve announced that the first defenses for both the men’s and women’s world titles will take place there. The world title will of course be decided by the main event of All Out, where Chris Jericho takes on Hangman Page. The women’s champion will conversely be crowned on the debut episode of AEW on TNT in DC. We know one of the contestants competing for it will be the winner of the Casino Royale, taking place on All Out’s Buy In pre-show.

While no further details were mentioned for either match, I’d expect qualifiers to take place among the prior two episodes. These title matches are set for October 16th.

Tickets go on-sale for both of these shows tomorrow (August 16th) at Noon Eastern/9am Pacific via AEWTIX.com.

    In other news…

    – The last episode of Being The Elite revealed some good news for those who enjoy a little fun in their wrestling. They officially announced the signing of one Orange Cassidy! For those who’ve never seen him, and granted I’ve only seen bits and pieces, check him out in the Double Or Nothing Casino Royale. Those legkicks he gave Dreamer were utterly ruthless… notice how we haven’t seen poor Tommy in AEW ever since? It’s upsetting that someone with such a storied career could have it all end that way, but to be perfectly fair, he really shouldn’t have tried to be a hero there. After the first shot, he should’ve just limped away but he tried to stand and take ’em…

In all seriousness, Orange Cassidy’s gimmick is basically that of a spaced-out lazy man who refuses to try. When I describe it like that it seems absurd that he’d be a babyface but he takes it to such comical proportions that it’s impossible not to love. Atleast, from my perspective and the perspective of plenty of others.

Like many standouts from that battle royal, Cassidy’s status was unknown for quite some time. The match was largely made up of one-shot deals, with many other stars that we haven’t seen since. The aforementioned Dreamer, as well as the likes of Ace Romero or Dustin Thomas. Plenty of these guest stars have since been officially signed though, such as Marko Stunt, Private Party, Luchasaurus and most notably Shawn Spears.

As far as Cassidy’s concerned, he’ll fit in well competing against the likes of Michael Nakazawa or the Librarians. AEW seems to be building something of a comedy division all it’s own…

Catch a video of this announcement below:

Personally I prefer thinking that Orange Cassidy was actually given a contract on the night of Double Or Nothing and he just, took this long to get around to signing it.

I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.
