There are very few star making qualities that Ricky Starks lacks in professional wrestling. Having signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2020, Starks found his breakout role in late 2022 when he earned his first chance to become AEW World Champion. The following promos and match with MJF made sure that no one can ignore the insane confidence and charisma that Starks carries with him into the ring, making comparisons to The Rock easier than ever. Much like Dwayne Johnson, Starks wouldn’t mind becoming a Hollywood star… but only after he reaches the top of the wrestling mountain.
Ricky Starks Wants To Be At The Top Of The Wrestling Industry And Acting In Super Hero Movies
While speaking with GVWire, Starks would state his dreams of Hollywood. When asked for a five year plan, Starks would respond with the following.
“I see myself making a lot of money. I see myself on top of the wrestling world and I see myself, you know, doing some movies here and there. Maybe some DC or Marvel movies. Who knows?”
Starks previously stated his 2023 AEW goals as claiming either the AEW World or TNT Championship before the year is through.
Speaking On His Victory Over Chris Jericho
While his feud with MJF truly got the wrestling world to take notice of him, it was his victory over industry legend Chris Jericho to start 2023 which maintained his upward climb in the industry. When asked about the biggest victory of his career, Starks would have the following to say about that match.
“To me is pretty important just because it gets more eyes on who I am as a competitor and also … it’s kind of been an up-and-down battle, so to speak, in the past few years. So I think it’s great to finally test my challenge against somebody like Chris Jericho in that regard. Going through this whole bout with Jericho coming out at the end of it, a lot better rested than I was, you know, going into it is what I’m aiming for here.”
