In anticipation of Valentine’s Day, greeting card company Moonpig has put out a card depicting Prince Harry, aged 38, on the front.
Greeting Cards Company Moonpig Releases Prince Harry-Themed Valentine’s Day Cards-‘If My Valentine Gave Me That Card He Wouldn’t Be My Valentine Much Longer’
The card carries a caption in reference to his recent departure from the Royal Family. In the picture here, we can see a cartoon picture of the Duke of Sussex.
Above the image, the following words can be seen: ‘Roses are red, violets are blue. I’d leave the Royal Family for you.’ This comes after the success of his book ‘Spare’ which has been selling well despite its controversial content.
The memoir is composed of a medley of allegations and narratives, directed to the Royal Family and the press. In spite of the severity and velocity of some of the claims, the book has been a success in terms of sales.
According to Nielsen BookData, ‘Spare’ has become the top-selling non-fiction work in the past 25 years. In its opening week, the book sold 467,183 copies in spite of it being released prematurely in Spain.
Yet, this amount is outdone by a report which suggests that the worldwide sales are 1.4 million, including the pre-orders. And if that is anything to go by, then the Harry-themed Valentine’s Day cards could equally fly off the shelves.
The fans on social media began to make a running joke about the whole situation. And as a result, they began to troll the Duke of Sussex.
One person wrote: “God forbid one of these came through my door it would go straight in the recycling bin,” while another person stated: “If my valentine gave me that card he wouldn’t be my valentine much longer.
“No matter what the sentiment is on the card being forced to look at that scary face would be just too much.” Time will tell how the cards end up performing.
