It’s week three of Bryan Danielson‘s quest to earn a title shot against MJF at AEW Revolution. He’s already taken down Konosuke Takeshita & Bandido, but tonight there’s another challenge all together. Brian Cage has been paid for this match by MJF in advance, and MJF doesn’t care if Cage wins or loses. Instead, he had a simple order for The Machine – and that is to break Danielson’s arm.
The Machine vs. The American Dragon
Cage would flaunt his power as this match began, shoving Danielson off into the corner with ease. Danielson would take some heavy chops in the corner, but was more than ready to fire back with strikes of his own. Cage would try for a Samoan Drop, only to take some elbow smashes to the side of the head.
LeBell Lock would be applied, with Cage able to find the bottom rope before rolling to the floor. Cage would take the suicide dive from Danielson, before a flying crossbody from the top rope. Danielson would hit some quick kicks out on the floor, before rolling Cage back into the ring for the Missile Dropkick.
Cage was able to avoid, before hitting a press slam into the corner. Danielson would be sent shoulder first into the barricade – with Cage starting to work on his side mission in this match. Cage would hit a stiff kick to the arm from the floor, before locking the kimura lock on. Danielson would be lifted into a Hammerlock Bearhug, and was able to fight free with some heavy kicks.
MJF Wants The Arm Of Bryan Danielson Broken
Cage would catch Danielson trying to vault to freedom, before hitting a simple shoulder breaker. The deadlift superplex was followed by a German Suplex, with Danielson landing on his shoulder. Cage would look for the powerbomb off the top rope, but took a superplex instead.
The Yes Kicks would follow, ending with a Buzzsaw Kick for a two count. Danielson would stomp the head of Cage before looking for the Triangle Choke. Cage looked for the powerbomb escape, only to take a Leg Capture German Suplex. He’d land on his feet before trading strikes and hitting a series of powerbombs before being rolled up for the finish – Danielson wins, with his arm intact.
Weapon X after the bell might have done it however. MJF would stomp down to the ring, grabbing a steel chair from the timekeeper’s table. Danielson had the chair wrapped around his arm, before it was driven into the ring post. MJF would keep the damage coming, looking to stomp the arm off the middle rope – but Konosuke Takeshita would make the save, sending MJF running.
Backstage, Danielson would be checked by a doctor – and he would be announced to have a partial tear. However – Danielson will not accept not wrestling, saying this pain is nothing. MJF claims there is a monster behind the mask, but Danielson says it’s just a fraud. No matter what it is – it’s nothing compared to the drive of The American Dragon.
Ruby Soho Looks To Get Even With Toni Storm
Last week, we got to see the real Toni Storm – when she would attack Willow Nightingale after the bell alongside Saraya, after cheating to get the victory. Ruby Soho would come to the aid of Nightingale after the bell, and tonight we have a grudge match on our hands. Storm will have to answer for her actions, as she locks up with a very angry Soho. Britt Baker was initially set to be involved making this a triple threat – but wasn’t cleared to compete.
Soho & Storm would lock up and battle for control, before just shoving and throwing strikes. Sohon would batter Storm into the corner, and nailed a stiff right hand to the jaw. Deadly Nightshade would be blocked in the corner, before Storm hit a thumb to the eye. Running Hip Attack would send Soho crashing to the floor, before Storm followed and whipped her off into the barricade.
Soho would be stomped into the ring, before Storm applied the Full Nelson on the mat. Storm would be driven into the corner to break the hold before the Deadly Nightshade into the Saito Suplexes. Destination Unknown would be blocked, but the No Future Kick landed flush. Storm would avoid a double stomp, before taking a knee to the nose.
She would play off her recently broken nose to send Soho into the ropes, before a German Suplex. Running hip attack and swinging DDT would follow, before Storm Zero landed. Britt Baker would come out to distract Storm, allowing for Destination Unknown for the Soho victory.
