The creative mind of artist Jake Chapman has modified and sold the cover image of Prince Harry’s book, Spare. Through his business, Heimlich Productions, Chapman offered 15 copies of the altered book for £1,000 each.

The covers are modified using watercolour and acrylic paint, giving them a gruesome appearance. Surprisingly, only one of the copies is still unsold. In his comments, he said: “The cover was begging to be rectified.”
And one such example of his work can be seen here. In the picture here, the painting that Jake created of Harry was based on a snap by Ramona Rosales, as sit shows the Duke’s face in green.
Nevertheless, Jake does not appear to be worried about any potential copyright problems, and he has not asked for approval from either Prince Harry or Penguin Random House to utilise the book. If those comments are taken to be true, then it is very significant for the following reasons.
First of all, it comes across as putting Jake in a negative light in that he is defacing the Duke of Sussex’s book, most likely because he does not view him in a positive way, and yet, he is making a huge mark up on the book.
Secondly, given that he has not asked permission to do such a thing, this could backfire on him, if Harry’s team decides to do something in response. Regardless of what the case may be, the fans on social media made their position clear.
A large number of people began to ridicule Harry in light of the distorted cover by playing along with it. One person wrote: “No idea who Jake Chapman was until today but good job, mate.
“What an improvement on an ugly mugshot of a photo,” while another person stated: “Great job. Could have added a pea in his brain.”
