On the 100th episode of AEW Dark Elevation, there are a bunch of tag team matches and some matches that sound like they might be good. Last week, the show didn’t live up to my expectations but I believe that this week, there will be a lot of good.
The Good from AEW Dark Elevation
Kicking off the show, I think that Paul Wright is finally starting to get his voice in the announce booth. He sounded solid throughout the first match and he is getting better and better.
Speaking of first matches, we have Red Velvet against Billie Starkz and for a match that lasted a little over three minutes, I think that this match was pretty good.
It showcased what both women can do and let Red Velvet pick up a solid win. Billie is only 18 years old and she looks better in the ring than a lot of women that are older than her.
Even though she is now 0-2, I think that she has a bright future and she will only get better. The only thing that we need to find out now is if she is good on the mic or if she have something interesting that can get the crowd behind her more.
I actually think that the backstage segment with Athena was pretty entertaining. I like Diamante too. I think that a match between these two would be pretty good.
Something else that I think would be great would be if Athena got Diamante to follow her into a group by keep offering her something that she never gives her.
I remember watching Rush wrestle Jay Lethal for the ROH World title a year or two ago. I forgot how good he can be. I think that he and Brain Pillman Jr had pretty good match even though it was kind of one sided.
Pillman and Brock Anderson supposed to be forming a tag team and I hope they do great. After it runs its course, I think that Pillman has a bright future as a singles star.
The Top Flight against Tony Nese and Ari Davari match was good, which is to be expected. I enjoyed the prematch promo that Mark Sterling cut. He is very good at what he does.
I have a compromise for AEW. Have Tony Nese and Mark Sterling join the Trustbusters so that Ari Davari can get back to his own group. PLEASE!!!
The main event between Claudio and Blake Christian was very good. Watching it, I think that Claudio would make a very good heel. He seemed like he was a dick to Blake at some points in the match.
There were some strange things in this match but they didn’t hurt the match at all. The first thing is why does Blake Christian get a title shot if he only has one win in AEW?
Is that all that the ROH World title is worth? He has lost more than he has won and he gets a shot at the title. They do the same thing with Athena and the ROH Women’s title.
The second thing is why are you doing the make it into the ring by the count of ten spot two minutes into a seven-minute match? Either you are made of paper or something else is wrong. This might be a wresting first.
