Riverdale actor Ryan Grantham (24) seems to be expressing guilt for murdering his mother but there are concerns about his safety in prison, according to his lawyer.
‘Riverdale’ Actor Ryan Grantham Is Reportedly Remorseful for Murdering His Mother and Is Still Concerned About His Safety in Maximum Security Prison
From what the lawyer has relayed, Grantham is currently serving time in a prison hospital while getting counseling. Apparently, he is coming to terms with what he did and looking into the reasons why it happened. “He regrets what he did to his mother,” lawyer Chris Johnson told TMZ.
However, his client has concerns about his prison time believing that he could be brutalized in maximum security. Johnson echoes that sentiment saying that because of Grantham’s stature, he could be “physically, psychologically, and sexually intimidated” by other inmates.
Seeing that there was some validity to the concerns when they were first presented in late 2022, officials moved Ryan Grantham to a prison hospital until they find a place for him.
Grantham murdered his mother Barbara White in 2020 and had filmed “rehearsals” of how he would do it—including holding the gun to her head as she played the piano. It was later explained that the murder was something of a “mercy killing” so that his mother wouldn’t witness and have to answer for the violence he had planned which involved Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and civilians.
The Diary of a Wimpy Kid actor was sentenced to life in prison in September 2022 and will be eligible for parole after serving 14 years of his sentence.
