During the 2023 Royal Rumble, we would see the WWE return of Chelsea Green. Previously part of the WWE NXT brand, Green was released in 2020 – and alongside husband Matt Cardona would make her way around the North American independent wrestling scene, finding a role as a top heel in Game Changer Wrestling, and success in Impact Wrestling. However, now that she is back in WWE – fans have wondered what will she be doing. WWE might have leakeds the plans during the latest episode of Monday Night RAW.
Robert Stone Brand Logo Appeared During Entrance Of Chelsea Green
During the show, fans would notice a brief RS logo appearing on the screens during her entrance. This logo belongs to the Robert Stone Brand, an act on the NXT brand which once contained Green as one of the clients of Robert Stone before her call up to the main roster and eventual release.
Stone has been the manager of rising star Von Wagner, but recently lashed out at Wagner on NXT TV, frustrated with knowing next to nothing about his client. The logo appearing could have been a production error, but Green came out to a new video package – leaving no reason for the logo to be included at this time.
Putting him alongside Chelsea Green will finally put his talents on the WWE main roster, and could help to elevate Green in the process. The latest RAW appearance of Green simply saw her defeated by Asuka in under three minutes, showing a lack of direction for the returning star. It’s far too early to write off the return of Green as a failure, but not too early to make moves to find something more substantial.
Matt Cardona Return Has Yet To Happen
The return of Matt Cardona was something many fans expected to follow, but Cardona has remained on the indies – recently losing an NWA World Heavyweight Championship match to Tyrus. His return could be coming later this year, but until then – sticking Green with Stone as her manager could atleast give a way to keep Green on TV in the meantime. The real money for WWE is in Cardona & Green as an on-screen couple, as that has produced some of the best work of their careers.
