Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are continuing to demand that the Royal Family admit their wrongs by apologizing.
Harry And Meghan Are Holding The Royals Hostage-They Want ‘A Capitulation And An Apology’
Relations between the Sussexes and the firm have been at an all time low since they left the Royal Family in 2020. During the course of that process, they have released several damning revelations against the institution.
This has been seen through their interview with Oprah Winfrey, the couple’s Netflix docuseries and Harry’s memoir, Spare. One particular bone of contention has been the pair’s claim that negative media stories concerning them were put out by the firm.
This would explain why the couple have been so vocal in speaking to the media to get their side of the narrative straight. This is crucial with reports that the couple have been invited to attend King Charles III’s Coronation that is set to take place on Saturday, 6th May 2023.
And with question marks remaining over whether or not they will attend, since it is Archie’s fourth birthday on the same day, the Sussexes are looking to hold the firm hostage.
A source confirmed the following: “The problem is that [the Sussexes] want a capitulation and [an] apology by the palace, but when ‘recollections vary,’ that’s quite difficult.”
Nevertheless, Harry has shown that things can be put to one side for the better. He attended Prince Philip’s funeral, despite the tensions that had emerged following his Oprah interview.
In addition, Harry made his way to the UK for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee which was done to celebrate her being in charge for 70 years.
Robert Lacey, who happens to be a royal expert, confirmed as much: “But the Platinum Jubilee and the funerals of the Queen and Prince Philip did demonstrate that they could put personal enmity aside for the sake of the bigger cause.”
