At the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, Bella Thorne expressed her disapproval of the “inappropriate” sexualization of her when she was a minor.

The 25-year-old actress shared that a man approached her to sign a collection of her pictures and that one of them was taken when she was 16 years old.
But rather than having an issue with the signing, it seemed she was not happy with the type of pictures. In her comments, she said: “It’s super sexy and my butt is out and I’m wearing lingerie and I’m topless.
“I said I wouldn’t sign that and he took it away and then put it back in front of me again. I said, ‘No, I’m not signing that.” Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind the following points.
First of all, her critics argued that she had no right to tell someone else what they wanted signing or not since she is in the public eye that comes with a lot of scrutiny.
Secondly, others stated that since Bella had engaged in those photo shoots that were revealing, she could not call out others for bringing it up. And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media.
One person wrote: “Wait she allowed herself to be photographed in sexually exhibit positions and nakedness and allowed those photos to be released to the public.
“But then has issues autographing said photos. Yeah, right,” while another person stated: “Well, she went along with it therefore she is complicit.” This just goes on to show that Bella had regrets over the past gigs she had taken up.
And if there is anything that she has learnt, then it is to make sure that she considers the consequences of her actions moving forward to prevent something like this from happening again.
