Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no strangers to controversy and negative media attention. This time, they became the topic of an episode of the American cartoon show South Park. The show is famous for mocking and making fun of public figures. This time, they did not go easy on the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex as well.
The latest episode of South Park features Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The name of the episode is ‘The Global Privacy Tour’, which is a brilliant name to explain South Park’s goal with it. Since South Park can’t use the real names of the people it features, the episode features the ‘Prince of Canada’ and his princess.
Is Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Celebrity Status in the US in Jeopardy thanks to South Park?
The animated series show Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as a couple that ‘strives’ to avoid the limelight. However, the way they do it, well, it’s quite accurate to what is happening with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry now.
The royal couple in the cartoon guests at talk shows and makes huge publications (same as the real one) and they constantly try to convince the public that they want privacy. Furthermore, the show depicts them entering a talk show on live TV holding banners saying ‘we want privacy’.
Prince Harry and his wife are already declining in popularity in the USA. The decline is evident mostly after their stepping down as royals last year. According to the royal expert Neil Sean, they are on a secure path to becoming completely irrelevant.
“Harry and Meghan should and will be very concerned about their celebrity status in America. After being royally laughed at by the satirical cartoon, it shows really how far they have fallen.” – Sean told Fox News. “The duo are very unhappy with this. A good source told me, and again one wonders why. It’s harmless and will easily be forgotten, just like that dreadful cartoon based on young Prince George, axed after one season.”
Finally, South Park goes the distance and portrays the Sussexes as “the dumb prince and his stupid wife”. Kyle is one of the main characters in the cartoon that dies at the end of each episode. He is in shock after he learns that the Prince of Canada and his wife live across his house.
“It is seriously driving me crazy.” – Kyle says. “I’m sick of hearing about them, but I can’t get away from them.”
“Look, Kyle, we just kind of don’t care about some dumb prince and his stupid wife.” – Stan replied.
