According to The Mail on Sunday, King Charles III plans to allow Prince Harry and Meghan Makle to reside at Buckingham Palace during their future visits to Britain.
King Charles III Plans On Allowing Harry And Meghan To Stay At Buckingham Palace During Visits-‘They Could Have Andrew’s Old Rooms’
The couple will no longer reside in their previous residence, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. However, they might be given the opportunity to utilize Prince Andrew’s previous suite in the Palace.
This is part of the monarch’s decision to slim down the monarchy and eliminate benefits for non-working members.
It is claimed that Andrew has been offered Frogmore by Charles, as he is being asked to vacate the Royal Lodge mansion in Windsor where he has resided for over two decades.
It is believed that Charles made this offer to Andrew even though the latter is hesitant to leave his current residence. After leaving the Royal Family three years ago, Harry and Meghan now reside in Montecito, California.
They have recently been informed to clear out any of their belongings from Frogmore Cottage by autumn. Despite this being the case, the couple have been invited to attend Charles’ coronation which is set to occur on Saturday, 6th May 2023.
With that being said, a source confirmed the following: “London is a better fit. The Sussexes have always wanted rooms at Buckingham Palace. They could have Andrew’s old rooms there, which are currently being vacated.”
The response on social media was one of outrage. Large numbers of people made it clear that this was a bad move since it was seen as a way to dismiss all the damage that the Sussexes had done.
One person wrote: “King Charles, you just undid the goodwill you forged with the public when you took the cottage away from the dastardly couple.”
Time will tell how this will all play out moving forward. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
