If there’s one thing that’s constant in professional wrestling, it’s Ric Flair doesn’t seem to take criticism well.
Give what he’s accomplished in his career, it’s understandable that he feels he’s above that or others are being unfair to him.
The latest round came after he wrestled his final match over last year’s SummerSlam weekend when he teamed with his son-i-law Andrade El Idolo and faced Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett.
The match earned the dubious distinction of being voted as one of the worst shows in 2022 in the Wrestling Observer Awards.
Flair made headlines during the match for passing out at least once, to which he said he was dehydrated and that’s what caused his problems in the ring.
Criticism is earned
On “Story Time with Dutch Mantell”, Dutch criticized Flair for his match and his reaction to fans voting it one of the worst of the year.

“I’ve had people write me and, seriously, people thought he was gonna die. I think he passed out a time or two in there. He doesn’t even remember it. Ric Flair now is trying to leave a legacy and he should have left it alone, or changed a lot of things in that match, because his legacy now is tarnished. I don’t know. Ric Flair is full of s–t and always has been.”
Dutch went after Flair previously for claiming he was in the locker room when Bruiser Brody was killed, and it looks like times haven’t healed the wounds as later on, Dutch ripped into Flair for criticizing fans that allowed him to make an alleged $300k on that match.
“The fans should be saying it to him, ‘Scr-w you, Flair.’ The tickets weren’t cheap for that match either. I don’t know what the ringside was, I think it was like 50 or 100 dollars. That’s a pretty expensive ticket for just a big independent show, even [though] Ric Flair was on it. I would never, ever, ever say F-U to the fans who knock me for a legitimate reason.”

The response held nothing back
Flair responded on Twitter with a pair of tweets.
“Thank God They Used The Word Veteran & Didn’t Call You A Legend. Just A Miserable Old Wrestler Trying To Make A Buck. And BTW, You Never Had A Legacy To Begin With. WOOOOO!”
And then in a following tweet, he took credit for making Dutch famous.
“I Just Made You More Famous Than You’ll Ever Be From A Single Tweet! WOOOOO!”
At this point, we have no doubt Flair’s being Flair and nothing else would surprise us.
