Over the past two decades, one of the best wrestlers in the world has been Christopher Daniels. Making his name in Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling, and now being the Head of Talent Relations in All Elite Wrestling – Daniels has made a lasting legacy in the industry.
Despite his office job in AEW, Daniels remains active in the ring – but understands that he won’t be doing this forever.
Christopher Daniels Understands Where He’s At In His Professional Wrestling Career
While speaking with WrestleZone ahead of a match in AAA – Daniels would share how he looks at every match at this stage of his career. Simply put – he knows that at this stage, every match could be his last, and he’s always giving his all incase it’s his final time working for a certain promotion.
“It could be my last match on Sunday. It could be my last one, and I understand that. Part of the challenge now is to wrestle like it could be my last match. My spirit is willing; sometimes, my flesh is weak, and that’s the real situation. As long as my spirit is strong, I’m going to keep doing this as long as I can. I don’t think this is the last time that I’ll get an opportunity to work for AAA. I have a good relationship with the company itself, and I look forward to Sunday, and we’ll see what happens. Then, after we win, anything is possible.”
In 2022, Daniels wrestled 40 matches for 10 different promotions, namely working for Defy Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling. He’s worked 13 matches so far in 2023, putting him on pace to complete a similar amount this year.
Daniels once was working 100+ matches each year – and has wisely picked his matches in recent years. He’s currently set to play a major role in the reboot of Ring of Honor – forming a tag team with another ROH original in Matt Sydal.
