In an interesting change of fate, Ronda Rousey’s fall from grace continues after her first run with the company as the fans continued to turn on her every week.
Granted, it’s been hard to watch her at times, but that could be due to the booking and script as much as anything else.
There are a few rumors going around, and one of them making the rounds on social media is that Fox wants Ronda Rousey, Hit Row, and Karrion Kross off Smackdown.
Fox Reportedly Doesn’t Want Hit Row, Karrion Kross, or Ronda Rousey on Smackdown
It’s not the first time there have been reports of networks wanting certain stars, and that’s left the WWE in an awkward position to placate Fox and USA at various times.
The news is curious and may be nothing more than just a rumor, but with the draft rumored to return after WrestleMania 39 with some dates bouncing around are May 8th for Raw and May 12th for Smackdown.
It’s been a while
There haven’t been any announcements from the WWE on whether or not there will be a draft, but it is believed that the WWE wants to shake things up after WrestleMania 39.
The main issue being they haven’t had two world champions since WrestleMania 38 when Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar to unify the titles.
With only one world champion and the increased movement of talent from one show to another happening on a regular basis, the draft wasn’t necessary.
To be honest, we haven’t missed the draft and enjoy not knowing who will appear on each show.
Spreading the talent around
While a draft isn’t really needed to move talent from one show to the other, it would make things easier in some ways as we’d know who to expect and get to see rivalries compartmentalized more.
It would also lead to repeated matches since the last couple of drafts didn’t really change the landscape.
Given the talent Fox wants off Smackdown, assuming their demands are legitimate and not internet rumors, it doesn’t surprise us.
As we mentioned above, Ronda’s been rough more than not for whatever reason, but Karrion Kross has fallen completely flat since returning to the company. Hit Row showed promise early on, but have since become glorified jobbers.
The reason for all of them having issues isn’t clear, but there’s a definite disconnect between them and us, and we’re not sure why.
We want to like them, and maybe a different show and new feuds will be the answer to everyone’s problems.
What do you think? Is Smackdown right to want the talent to move to Raw? Let us know in the comments below.
