The term ‘underrated’ gets thrown a lot in the professional wrestling industry. Everyone simply wants to see their favorites get to hold a World Championship, even if that simply isn’t possible. Especially when someone shows a high level of skill in the ring, they will get the label of underrated, and Karrion Kross feels that label fits perfectly on Ricochet.
Karrion Kross Names Ricochet As Most Underrated Name On WWE Roster
While appearing on Superstar Crossover with Z100’s Josh Martinez, Karrion Kross would be asked who he thought was the most underrated name on the WWE roster – and he’d respond with the following.
“I hope people don’t take this the wrong way, but I think Ricochet is most underrated. The reason is because that is a guy you can put in the ring completely, like on a cold match with no story, and he will be able to get reactions out of any audience that he is working in front of. There are certain people that lean more towards storytelling, and there’s certain people that lean more towards highspots. It just depends on what audience you’re working in front of. Some audiences prefer more storytelling, and then other audiences are showing up for the highspots. They want to see hybrid Lucha Libre, which is wonderful. We have a very diverse audience, and each city is different, but I’m telling you, man, if you put Ricochet in the ring with anybody, I mean, they’re gonna get their money’s worth. With all due respect to everybody on the roster, everyone gives 110%. I just think that he hits different.”
Kross & Ricochet have only crossed paths a few time in WWE, mainly during Kross’s first run on the WWE main roster. The chance for a big time match between them in 2023 feels possible, with both on the Smackdown Live roster.
One Of The Best Midcard Acts In WWE History
It’s hard to deny everything Kross said about Ricochet. While we might never see him claim the WWE Championship, rosters become stronger when people like Ricochet are on hand. You can’t simply build a roster of main event stars, and Ricochet is going to go down as one of the best midcard acts in WWE history.
We most recently seen Ricochet form a tag team with Braun Strowman, and they unsuccessfully challenged The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships on the February 10th episode of Smackdown Live. It seems like this team will stick around, and once the record setting reign of The Usos concludes, they could well find themselves as champions in 2023.
