Tonight could well be the last night for WWE as we know it. Rumours of a sale have been circulating since earlier this year, when it was reported there was interest from the Saudi Royal Family in purchasing WWE.
That deal was not finalised, but WWE remained open to the idea of a sale. Vince McMahon returned to the company to help facilitate a deal – and now, it seems they found their buyer.
Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc Look To Buy WWE For $9.3 Billion Dollars
Endeavor Group Holdings, Inc – the parent company of UFC is reportedly close to finalising a $9.3 billion dollar deal to purchase WWE.
This deal would grant them 51% ownership of the company, with the deal potentially closing as soon as tomorrow. Vince McMahon would maintain a role as executive chairman in this deal.
This could lead to WWE & UFC being merged into one new company, which would create the biggest sports entertainment company imaginable. WWE & UFC have their common fans and elements, and merging the two would create an entirely new spectacle for fans.
We likely wouldn’t see the end of WWE as a professional wrestling company – but joint shows with WWE & UFC could be the future of PPV for the company.
A Sale Was Inevitable With Vince McMahon & Nick Khan Working Towards Same Goal
WWE was looking to complete a sale before the media rights for shows like Monday Night RAW, NXT & Smackdown Live are up for renewal next year.
The sale of WWE was inevitable with Nick Khan & Vince McMahon working towards this goal throughout 2023, and the effects are simply untellable at this time.
Endeavor might simply allow WWE to exist as it is, and allow the crew to continue running shows like always – or things could see dramatic changes.
This is a situation where we will be keeping our ears to the ground, and reporting the facts as they come out. Right now, the fact is that WrestleMania 39 could be the final show with WWE in it’s current form.
