AEW Dynamite rolls on. We then see a video of Brodie Lee in front of his henchman, standing before a static-filled tv screen. Brodie says he understands during these trying, unprecedented times how you feel. He once was lost, downtrodden and beaten down. But now he stands before you as the Exalted One. He asks for one of his men to stand up. He says “Thank you, Mr. Lee.” Brodie corrects him, “Mr. Brodie” and then has to say it again, “I said Mr. F*cking Brodie.” Another of the creepers yawns and Brodie is furious, another inside Vince McMahon trait. Brodie asks him if there’s something happening at home that he needs to know about. Says that tiredness shows weakness. Are you weak? Right now he looks weak to him. He can’t have that within these doors. Demands that he never yawn in his presence again. Tells him to go. This Vince McMahon parody is pretty great honestly, it works as a heel even if you don’t understand. This transitions to the Natural Nightmares taking on the Dark Order’s underlings, 8 & 9. Yup, that’s all they’re called.
The Natural Nightmares vs. 8 & 9
They again offer QT some masks, he throws it right back at them. Dustin tags in, uppercut, big arm drag. QT tags in, corkscrew standing senton for a nearfall. Dustin tags back in, big suplex to one mook, tosses another away. QT tags in, Dark Order takes over with a cheap shot, clothesline for a 2 count. Takes him to the face corner, charging clothesline, tag to the other underling. Knife edge chop, QT is kicked down to the mat. “Let’s Go QT” chant as he breaks a double irish whip, Lethal Combination to one man, big vertical suplex to another! Makes the tag to Dustin Rhodes who comes in with a series of clotheslines, on the back body drop attempt he gets him with the low uppercut, Inverted Atomic Drop, bulldog! Ducks a clothesline and there is the famed Snap Powerslam! Low bridge takes a man to the outside, Dustin charges across the apron for a flying senton! QT with his QT Special following up. They now have a man alone in the ring, Inverted Powerslam/Cutter combo and Dustin makes the cover for the win!
Winners: The Natural Nightmares
An easy debut. Putting random jobbers under the Dark Order masks and letting them eat a pin is a nice, simple idea that I’ve actually had for a while. As they make their way to the back, out comes the Exalted One himself. He stares down Dustin Rhodes, then enters the ring and puts down the man who got pinned with a furious powerbomb. Stares down the other who simply runs away.
