In professional wrestling, injuries are common. They simply come with the job, and even the safest worker puts themselves at a lot of risk whenever they enter the ring for a match. The latest name to be placed on the injured list for WWE is one of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
During a match against Damage CTRL – Liv Morgan would suffer an injury. She missed last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW as a result – but she won’t be missing much time.
Liv Morgan Injured, Not Expected To Be Stripped Of Tag Team Championships
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio – Dave Meltzer would share an update on Liv Morgan, and what this injury means for her and Raquel Rodrigeuz as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
“That’s legit. She was hurt in the Friday match….If you’re going to miss six months then yes, but if it’s just one match they don’t strip of the title for a minor injury. I don’t know what the injury is, and they didn’t say, but the way everything was played up, you know it’s not like if she was going to be out for a long time with this injury, she’d say she was out, and then they would take steps of stripping them of the belts. You know, it felt like it was something where, you know she’s going to be back very soon. And they went and did an angle with Ronda and Bazler with Raquel to build up a title match so I think it’s a short-term thing for Liv. That’s certainly the impression based on their booking.”
If Morgan’s condition is unable to improve as expected, her reign with Raquel will likely end in the belts ending up vacant.
The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships have had a turbulent run since being introduced, and this injury is simply the latest bump in the road. When Morgan returns, the belts will be defended against Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville. , with the match simply postponed.
