It’s a big day to be a fan of All Elite Wrestling – but even with the announcement of AEW Collision – TNT Champion Wardlow has had little time to enjoy it. Last week, he was verbally attacked by Christian Cage, all while Wardlow was away from the building.
Cage would say that anything he said in that promo, he’d repeat to the face of Wardlow. He’d even threaten to spit into the face of Wardlow. Tonight, Wardlow wants to see Cage following through.
Wardlow Gets Outplayed By Christian Cage
Kicking off AEW Dynamite, Wardlow would ask for Cage to hit the ring and back his words up. With Luchasaurus there to protect him, Cage would come to the ring and promised to end the TNT Championship reign of Wardlow. Wardlow would ask for Cage to spit in his face, only to grab him by the throat as Cage prepared to do so.
Luchasaurus would make the save, allowing Cage to hit a low blow. Wardlow took a boot to the face, as Cage instructed Luchasaurus to grab a ladder. Cage would run Wardlow down using the butt to the ladder, before leaning it into the corner of the ring.
Luchasaurus would proceed to chokeslam Wardlow through the ladder, crushing it – before Cage would flip the Killswitch, sending Wardlow head first into the steel. Cage would pose with the TNT Championship, and after this destruction – that belt could be his very soon. Wardlow would demand revenge at Double or Nothing – in a ladder match for the TNT Championship.
Darby Allin Sends Clear Message To MJF
There has been little rest in the schedule of Orange Cassidy, and after defending the AEW International Championship last week – he’s back in the ring. Tonight he teams with Darby Allin, as they face Lee Moriarty & Big Bill.
Cassidy would start things off with Moriarty, trading quick pinfall attempts on the mat. Moriarty would be sent tumbling with a Monkey Flip – before Allin & Bill got the tags. Allin was dwarfed by the heavyweight, and was swung around and thrown with ease. Despite this, Allin refused to quit and alongside Cassidy was able to send Bill to the floor.
Bill would regain his footing and nailed a big boot to the face of Cassidy, sending him from the apron and tumbling to the floor. Cassidy would be thrown around by Bill in the ring, before countering a delayed vertical suplex with some knees and completed a tag to Allin. Unfortunately, the referee didn’t see the tag – and Cassidy was dropped with the suplex.
Moriarty would get the tag, but was unable to prevent Cassidy from making the tag. Allin would hit a Coffin Splash onto both men, before running Bill into his own partner. Code Red was blocked with Bill trying for a chokeslam, with Allin able to briefly block before being dropped with a huge Boss Man Slam.
Allin would complete the tag to Cassidy, with Cassidy ending up in the Border City Stretch. He’d counter with a roll up for a two count, before setting up Moriarty in the corner. A double superplex would follow, only for Big Bill to run them both down with a lariat. Allin managed a Code Red on Bill, before Moriarty was dropped by a Beach Break into the Coffin Drop. Allin would finish with a Headlock Takeover, a direct message to MJF.
