On May 23, 2023, WWE Hall of Famer and former World Champion Bill Goldberg raised alarms after he posted photos of himself bloodied on Instagram.
The injury in question was to his head and he would clear up the situation while speaking with TMZ Sports. According to Goldberg, he’d been injured while working on his Texas farm.

The four-time World Champion bumped his head on his tractor and told TMZ that the cut was merely a flesh wound. He also shared that he super glued the cut shut.
So, all is well with Goldberg although it wasn’t clarified why the photos were posted in the first place. He hasn’t reported any complications from the cut, so he’s fine as far as we know.
Bill Goldberg was last in-ring at Elimination Chamber 2022 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He’d been put on a collision course against Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
Prior to that, he had three matches as he challenged two different champions for the WWE Championship. The first was an unsuccessful attempt at Drew McIntyre’s title during the 2021 Royal Rumble.
He would return in August to challenge Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam in another failed effort. That match would go over the line as Lashley continued to zero in on Goldberg’s banged up knee after the match. This would set up his last match for 2021 with a victory over Lashley at Crown Jewel 2021 in a Falls Count Anywhere match—which seemed shorter than it was clocked.
Given his special attraction booking and how he’s popped up every year since, it’s safe to expect Goldberg in the ring at some point this year. The question is about how he would be penciled into Triple H’s current weekly plans and how that contract would form.
Interestingly, there was scuttlebutt about him being in All Elite Wrestling. Earlier in 2023, Goldberg discussed the retirement match he was promised by Vince McMahon and the possibility of joining AEW:
“If I go on a world tour and promote it myself, you know, that’s a possibility. If I, you know, hey, I’m a businessman and I’m fortunately, you know, in the position I firmly believe to where I can still make it happen. So, you know, at the end of the day, like I said, I do believe that my character deserves a proper send-off.”
