WWE WrestleMania 36 rolls on and now we have the big grudge match between Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins.
Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens
Kevin charges, Seth kicks him away, rushes out of the ring but Kevin follows him and slams him into the barricade! Seth with a knee lift to the gut, rushes into the ring, Kevin slides in, Seth tries for the Stomp but Kevin avoids it! Loud knife edge chop nailed! Batters him into the corner! Wants a back body drop but Seth kicks him right in the face, charges but Owens nails him with a big clothesline! Half senton! And then another! Wants a cannonball but Seth bails! Kevin pursues, another brutal knife edge chop! Pulls Seth over and slams him into the barricade! Tosses him into the barrier once more! Slides in and out of the ring. Seth begs him off, Owens kicks him in the chest and tosses him into the ring.
Seth rolls to the apron, Kevin goes up to the apron, pulls him up, looks for a piledriver! Rollins reverses, back body drop onto the apron! Seth hoists Kevin up, Falcon Arrow right onto the apron, brutal! Seth starts talking. “One on one, right here! How’s it working out for you, Kevin?” Suicide dive sends Kevin careening into the barrier! Seth sits on the apron and continues mocking him. Seth repeats that when the lights are on brightest he becomes a God! And there’s another suicide dive! Rolls back into the ring and asks if Kevin is gonna be a failure his whole career, asks what his kids are gonna think. Seth wants third dive but Owens blocks him with a punch to the face! Enters the ring but Seth is able to get him with the Slingblade! Kicks him right in the back. Asks Kevin what he said on Raw. “You were gonna be the one to burn it down at WrestleMania?” Seth asked. Back kick to the gut, goes for the Stomp but Owens avoids it, and again, spikes him with a DDT!
Rollins charges, Kevin evades in the corner, thrust kick! Cannonball! Goes up top, Swanton Bomb for the nearfall! Kevin tries the Pop-Up Powerbomb, Seth goes way up high to leapfrog him and land on his feet, Seth blocks the Stunner, enziguri kick lands, Owens fires back with a clothesline flipping him onto his face! Kevin takes Seth up top, yelling “C’mon Messiah! C’mon God!” Wants a superplex but Seth blocks it… holds on, rakes the eyes! Sunset Flip into the Charging Buckle Bomb! Avada Kedavra! And a second! Looks for the Stomp but Owens counters with a crushing Sit-Out Powerbomb for a nearfall! Seth rolls out of the ring, Kevin keeps chasing him as Rollins seems to want to leave. As Owens advances, Seth takes him by surprise with a shot of the ring bell! And that’s the match, Seth gets himself DQ’d.
Winner: Kevin Owens (By DQ)
Welp. Really good match for a while there but it just ends like that apparently. But wait… Kevin rolls into the ring with a microphone, yells at Seth. Says he can’t end it this way. Those weren’t the actions of a God those were the actions of a little bitch! Says if Seth is half the man he claims he is, prove it! Get back here and finish this! No disqualifications, no rules, let’s finish it! Seth asks when he’ll learn… agrees to the match and comes back!
Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins
Rollins with the immediate charging high knee to the face! Calls him a fat piece of crap as he dumps him to the floor! Pursues and scythes him with kicks! Says “Here’s your moment, Kev” as he slams him into the barricade! Says it’s no disqualifications, he can do whatever he wants. Grabs up the steel steps! Slams them right into Owens’ face! Seth takes up a steel chair, yells “Reap what you sow” as he blasts him in the back with it! And again in the torso! Another big shot to the back, Owens howling in pain! Seth swaggers around, cocky. Advances on Owens, Kevin surprises him with a ringbell, exactly like Seth did to him! And then nails him with it again, putting Seth on the announce table! Kevin Owens climbs the WrestleMania sign above the table!! Yells “How’s this for a WrestleMania moment?!” and runs, a titanic half senton puts Rollins through the table! Seth is wheezing in anguish, the air taken right out of his lungs! Kevin drags Seth up and into the ring! Rolls inside… Kevin can barely walk but he claws Rollins’ face, pulls him up… Seth starts begging off now but Owens plants him with a Stunner! Pins him for the win.
Winner: Kevin Owens
Awesome stuff. That’s certainly one way to make a match indisputably great, reactions or no. I even appreciate the match restart here, as it played off the idea that perhaps you wouldn’t do a decisive finish to a major match in this situation. It was believable that Seth would just get DQ’d in this case.
