The retirement and subsequent return of Vince McMahon to WWE was one of the biggest stories in professional wrestling over the past few years.
Formerly the CEO of the company, Vince stepped back after a wave of sexual misconduct offenses caught up to him, but his position as a majority shareholder kept him involved with the company. One role that Vince stepped away from is creative, with Triple H taking the reigns – but Vince wasn’t going to stay away forever.
Ricochet Says Everyone Still Looks To Vince McMahon In WWE Creative
During an interview with Joe Baiamonte of Sporf, Ricochet would reveal that Vince is still someone directly involved with WWE in the creative department. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion had the following to say.
“Vince is still involved and Vince is still talked to. He’s still someone that everyone looks to, especially with creative. So he’s got his fingers in everything too. I think Triple H and everybody in creative is just trying to do the best they can in bringing out the best in who they have. They’re trying to work to everyone’s strengths. I think that’s something that Triple H has always done. They want to grow the brand as much as possible.
Whether it’s Raw or SmackDown or NXT. They’re trying to highlight the strengths of everybody. I think it’s been great so far. Everybody sees the popularity of the brand now, so they just want to expand it as much as possible. I think what they’ve been doing recently with everybody has been great. Everybody’s been going out there and giving it their all.”
It only makes sense that Vince would still have a voice in the conversation, generally being the one who approves ideas in the end. Triple H likely handles most of the day to day work in this regard, being the official Head of Creative in the company.
