Since making his WWE debut, Sheamus has been one of the most successful wrestlers of the modern era. He’s won World Championships, King of The Ring, Royal Rumbles and more.
However, as he hits the later years of his career – he is now taking more of a mentor role, taking Butch (formerly Pete Dunne) and Ridge Holland under his wing as The Brawling Brutes. A trio of hard hitting wrestlers, they have been in some major matches – but Sheamus feels they can be doing a lot more in the company.
Sheamus Feels The Brawling Brutes Have Been Underused In WWE
While speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, the former WWE Champion would express some frustration around the lack of use from The Brawling Brutes. Sheamus had the following to say.
“I just don’t think they’ve really capitalised on the group, I don’t think they’ve really let us show what we can do. This stop/start stuff is really hard when you’re trying to highlight young talent. It’s frustrating, you know? So I dunno, maybe we’ll get an opportunity to show what we can really do as a group because a lot of those other groups who are out there now have definitely got an opportunity that we haven’t had to do some storyline stuff, some character stuff. That’s kinda been a shame, mate, to be honest, considering the talent that’s in there.”
In 2022, The Brawling Brutes were involved in the feuds against Imperium and The Bloodline – but have done little of note in 2023.
Ridge Holland & Butch Are Hungry To Succeed
When aksed about the hunger of Butch & Holland to succeed in WWE – Sheamus had the following to say
“They’re young, they’re hungry, they’ve wanted to do this their whole lives! Ridge has been a fan of wrestling his whole life, Butch has been doing this from a young age. Sitting on the sidelines, especially when you’re passionate and you know you’re talented and you know you can go, there’s nothing more frustrating. It could’ve been better.”
