Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler are quickly proving themselves as one of the best tag teams in the women’s tag team division. They recently unified the WWE & NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships, but are not undisputed as champions just yet.
Having won vacant belts, they didn’t have to beat the previous champions of Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez. Morgan is fresh back from injury, and knows a thing or two about beating Ronda – and looks to get her belts back tonight.
Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler Strive For Early Control
Morgan & Baszler would start this match, and Baszler quickly took Morgan to the mat and tried to break her elbow with a stomp. Not wanting to end up back on the injured list, Morgan would avoid and send Baszler to the floor. Rousey joined Baszler as they tried to strategize, only for Rodriguez to powerbomb Morgan onto them.
Back in the ring, Baszler would take Morgan down to the mat and stomped her elbow before slapping on an armbar. Morgan would refuse to tap out, and kicked her way free – with Baszler falling into a tag to Rousey. Ankle Lock would be applied, but Rousey was unable to stop Morgan from completing the tag.
Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez Will Accept Any Victory
Rodriguez would flaunt her power with a big slam, before trying for a top rope powerbomb. Rousey would get an armbar applied, but Rodriguez would still complete the powerbomb – at great cost to herself.
Morgan was ready to get back into the ring, but ended up in a double submission – with Rodriguez having to break her free.
Baszler would remain in control and applied a chokehold – only for Rousey to tag herself in. This would cause Baszler to snap, and choke Rousey out.
Shocked but ready to take advantage, Morgan & Rodrgiuez would attack – and for the second year in a row, Morgan takes a championship from Rousey at Money In The Bank.
This ends the tag team alliance of Rousey & Baszler – and puts them at odds, meaning there are some hard hitting matches quickly approaching. What does the future hold for Ronda Rousey? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
