Will The Forgotten Sons Sink Or Swim In WWE?

On the latest episode of Smackdown Live, we saw a huge debut in the form of the faction called The Forgotten Sons. Jaxson Ryker, Wesley Blake, and Steve Cutler make up their ranks, and they might finally get their chance to shine. After years of being overlooked in NXT, they hard hitting brawling trio have made their way to the WWE main roster. Will they find success, or be lost in the shuffle like NXT teams tend to do?

NXT Tag Teams Rarely Work Out

The list of teams who found equal success on RAW and Smackdown as they did in NXT could be quickly counted, as it is essentially just The Revival, Heavy Machinery, Street Profits, and Viking Raiders. On the other hand you have a growing list. Sanity, Vaudevillians, Enzo & Cass, Lucha Dragons, The Ascension, Authors Of Pain, and American Alpha. Between getting lost in the shuffle, being hit with injuries, or just being pushed off the card, these teams failed to match their success.

Forgotten Sons Come In With Low Expectations

One perk that this trio has coming into the main roster is no one expects much from them. After a fairly uneventful time in NXT, combined with the cursed nature of tag team call ups, very few expect The Forgotten Sons to set the world on fire. They are similar to Elias in this regard, where he was someone who didn’t make his name in NXT, and only got going once he hit Monday Night RAW. Their in ring talent is great, their look is imposing, and they know who they are. The tools are all here, and with the WWE roster in a reduced form due to COVID-19 making travel hard, they might be able to make an impact in the next few weeks by virtue of being a healthy tag team on Smackdown.

To get a good taste of what they are able to do in the ring, their best matches were in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finals in 2019 against Ricochet & Alesiter Black, as well as the Fatal Four Way Ladder match at NXT Takeover 25.

Do you think Forgotten Sons will be able be successful on Smackdown? Will Jaxson Ryker be split off into a solo star once Vince McMahon realizes how tall he is? Let us know what you think about this new tag team in the comment section down below.
