WWE Friday Night SmackDown rolls on and as part of the big NXT moves of the week, we have… the Forgotten Sons on SmackDown now. It’s uh, not exactly gigantic news but it’s happening. They’re up against the Lucha House Party in their first match which is incredibly not a trios match. Seems like Kalisto may not be available at the moment.
The Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake) vs. Lucha House Party (Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado)
The heels take the immediate advantage and work over Lince. Blake with some nasty open hand chops. Lince out-speeds them, springboard stunner, there’s the tag to Gran Metalik! Springboard Elbow, spin amongst the ropes for the flying dropkick, cover but Cutler breaks it up! Lince comes in with a massive chop of his own, back body drop takes him to the outside, Blake with a roll-up on Metalik, Metalik kicks out and hits an enziguri only to be laid out by a massive lariat. Tag to Cutler, Reverse DDT/Double Foot Stomp combo for the victory.
Winners: The Forgotten Sons
Solid impressive debut. Not hard to make them look strong when they’re in there with the Lucha House Party. It’s kinda funny though they went to the trouble of making a few vignettes to paint the Forgotten Sons as babyfaces purely so they could lose to the Grizzled Young Veterans, and now next thing you see from them they’re just here on SmackDown back in the same bitter heel role.
Backstage, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross are celebrating with their tag titles and talk about how they feel unbeatable right now. Carmella and Dana Brooke congratulate them and note that they couldn’t be at WrestleMania so they’d like to get a WrestleMania moment of their own and challenge for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles! Alexa says she feels bad that they couldn’t be at Mania but that doesn’t mean they get to cut in line. Dana says if they’re so unbeatable what’s the harm? Nikki pulls Alexa aside and and they whisper to each other. Alexa turns and begins to answer when Nikki yells “Challenge accepted”! Bliss tells Nikki that she loves her but from now on, decaf. Cute line. Dana and Carmella weren’t dressed to wrestle so I don’t thiiiink that match is also happening tonight, but they didn’t really give any further details.
