On the latest episode of AEW Rampage, fans would be introduced to The Righteous. A faction born in Ring of Honor, this trio is now making it’s way to All Elite Wrestling. While Stu Grayson is a recognized name to longtime AEW fans, being an original member of The Dark Order – Vincent & Dutch are still unknown, but they’re not to be ignored.
Vincent & Dutch Have Been Quietly Becoming Two Very Dangerous Men
Vincent is the leader of The Righteous, but wasn’t always a leader in wrestling. Originally a member of The Kingdom after Matt Taven rebuilt the faction, many viewed him as a simple hard hitting wrestler. However, Vincent had a lust for power – and would turn on Taven, leading to a violent feud between the former friends, and the creation of The Righteous.
This put Vincent in the role that finally made him a memorable professional wrestling. His smooth talking cult leader style promos have been compared to the early work of Bray Wyatt in WWE, while his in-ring style is a smooth mix of power and technical skill. Vincent has only been refining his style with ROH On HonorClub, and could be a standout name in AEW very soon.
However, as talented as Vincent can be – it’s Dutch that fans won’t be able to ignore. At 6’4” and over 300lbs, Dutch is as imposing as a wrestler can be, especially given his uncanny speed. Often compared to legends like the Big Boss Man, Dutch is perhaps the best enforcer in wrestling today, and with him doing the bidding of Vincent – is incredibly dangerous.
More Names Are Linked To The Righteous, And Ready To Show Up For Vincent As Needed
Originally, the faction contained more members, with Vincent originally recruiting Bateman & Vita VonStarr for his war against Matt Taven. However, we haven’t seen them involved with the group since 2022 – with Stu Grayson filling the void. It’s unclear if they will return to boost the numbers of the faction again, with Vita being a perfect fit for the often chaotic AEW Women’s division.
Right now, the trio of Vincent, Dutch & Grayson are set to enter the AEW World Trios Championship hunt. They’re the third major group brought up from Ring of Honor by Khan this year, following The Kingdom & Iron Savages. ROH is fulfilling the role of a place for Khan to allow talent to grow, similar to WWE NXT.
Perhaps the best match to get familiar with The Righteous is their Fight Without Honor against Dark Order from ROH Death Before Dishonor 2023.
