Out of the current crop of releases from WWE, the one that stands out the most is that of Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson. They were heavily pushed as one of the top tag teams within WWE, being two time RAW Tag Team Champions for a combined 84 days, as well as being named The Best Tag Team In The World following winning a gauntlet match in Saudi Arabia. Their reputation preceded them in WWE, as they were a top tag team in New Japan Pro Wrestling as well before being signed to WWE. What will be the next move for this top level tag team?
Bullet Club Is For Life
While New Japan Pro Wrestling are remaining sensible and not running shows during the COVID-19 outbreak which caused this batch of releases, Gallows & Anderson might find a home there. They were a loved team backstage, with Anderson being one of the top gaijin in the company, even making it to the finals of the G1 Climax once and nearly winning the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.
Together they won three IWGP Tag Team Championships and won World Tag League in 2013. Their three reigns lasted a combined 601 days, the fifth most in company history. They were part of the Bullet Club faction, and while Guerillas of Destiny took their role, there is always room for some OG’s in the group.
Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson also have a chance to be a top team for New Japan Pro Wrestling Of America, should that expansion plan be fully realized. They are now well known in the United States due to their WWE run, making them a bigger act.
Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson To Become Elite?
While returning to NJPW would make sense, it would potentially require a move to Japan to work. There is another option that could work for them, that being All Elite Wrestling. They have one of the best tag team divisions in the world which would fit Gallows & Anderson perfectly, and the company is run by Bullet Club alumni, which gives them a foot in the door. A veteran edge is needed in the division, which is exactly what they would bring to the table.
