Darby Allin has another chance to become TNT Champion tonight – but it might be his hardest task to date in AEW. After defeating Christian Cage & Luchasaurus in tag team action – he will now face them both in a triple threat match tonight.
It might end up being more akin to a handicap match – but Cage is slippery, and could look to finally legitimise his claim to the TNT Championship.
Christian Cage Finally Takes The TNT Championship For Himself
Cage would tell Luchasaurus to do the dirty work as this match began, but Allin came prepared. He would throw power in the eyes of Luchasaurus before a dive to the floor.
A Code Red in the ring would get a two count, before Allin would dive onto Luchasaurus on the floor. Cage would gain the high ground, and would slingshot Allin off the ropes, sending him tumbling to the floor.
Setting up a chair on the ropes, Cage would put it under the throat of Allin and stand on his neck. Luchasaurus would look for a pinfall, but Cage told him ‘not yet’… before trying to steal the win for himself.
Allin kicked out at two, before the mauling continued. Cage would hit a series of knife edge chops, before being sent from the ring.
Luchasaurus took some feral strikes in the corner, but a single headbutt dropped Allin. Cage tried for a spear in the ring – but would be dodged, before the Scorpion Death Drop from Allin.
A coffin drop was set to follow, but Luchasaurus made the save – before taking a Coffin Drop on the floor. In the ring, Allin tried to go for a crossbody – but was caught into a chokeslam.
The TNT Championship would be pushed into the ring, and for the first time in his reign – Luchasaurus would hold the belt. An argument broke out, and Allin would take advantage.
Luchasaurus would have Cage shoved into him before taking a shot from the belt. Coffin Drop would follow, but Cage shoved Allin out of the ring – and took the belt for himself by pinning the champion.
Don Callis Is Ready For WrestleDream
Last night on AEW Rampage – Chris Jericho would be saved by Kenny Omega. This was in response to a three on one attack, with Don Callis, Konosuke Takeshita & Sammy Guevara involved. They would issue a challenge for WrestleDream – and Callis has something to say about this.
Omega would pitch Ibushi getting involved, and while Callis respects the talent that Ibushi has – he’s not scared. That’s because Callis has a man who has beaten Ibushi,
Omega, and Jericho – that being the IWGP UK Champion – Will Ospreay. They’re prepared for WrestleDream, but are the Golden Lovers & Jericho? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
