In WWE there was a man in recent months who was barely used on TV, and who never was able to show his full potential during his time with the company. This was Eric Young, former NXT Tag Team Champion and leader of Sanity. He was released alongside many others in WWE on Wednesday, April 15th. What will be next for Eric Young?
An Impact Wrestling Return Is Very Likely
From 2004 to 2016, Eric Young was a mainstay of Impact Wrestling (previously known as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling). There he did essentially everything there was to do. He was Impact World Heavyweight Champion, Impact X-Division Champion, a four time Tag Team Champion, King Of The Mountain, and even Knockout Tag Team Champion. From Team Canada to Super Eric to the crafty underdog who won the world title, he played many characters and is one of the most iconic wrestlers in their history and proved to be the most diverse in that history.
Because of this, this would likely be his place to return to continue his career. He has already been called out by Impact roster member ‘Moose’, who said the following on Twitter. “Hey Impact Wrestling I believe Eric Young was one of the key names in TNAs history. I believe he is a Grand Slam Champion. I would f*ck him up just like I have done the other jabaronies”. Forever the professional, Young replied with “Appreciate the kind words bud!” This gives an easy feud to get Young back into the fold, as Moose has been attacking the past of TNA as of late.
Eric Young Comments On Release
Now being free from a company which wouldn’t let a creative genius like Eric Young be able to do what he feels is best, he was slightly excited to get his release. He made the following announcement on Twitter “Thanks for all the kind words everyone! It’s hard to explain what they mean to me so I won’t even try. Know it is appreciated more than you could ever know! EXCITED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITIES! EXCITED ABOUT MY CHOICES! EXCITED TO RIGHT OTHERS WRONGS! #WORLDCLASSMANIAC”
He is the type of talent which will truly be an asset to any company. He has such a diverse resume, is well loved by talent all around the world. Even outside of wrestling, he used to host a TV show on Discovery channel about fishing. Eric Young is not someone to be concerned about, and once his 90 days are up, we will see him coming back better than ever. What do you think is next for Eric Young?
