WWE Monday Night Raw continues. Akira Tozawa will now face off with WWE United States Champion Andrade a follow-up from last week as Tozawa was one of the men that Zelina’s trio ganged up on.
WWE United States Champion Andrade vs. Akira Tozawa (Non-title)
Tozawa quickly takes advantage with a big charging knee! Andrade pops him up but Tozawa with a rana out of the air takes him to the floor! Baseball slide, to the apron, Tozawa with a huuuuge charging senton slams Andrade into the barricade! Tozawa throws him into the ring, goes up top, Missile Dropkick! Cover for a nearfall! Andrade bails, Tozawa pursues, Zelina distracts him and Andrade nails a pump kick. Takes Tozawa into the ring to work him over, tries for a Back Suplex but Tozawa lands on his feet, and somehow we have our second consecutive match with an Octopus Stretch on Monday Night Raw! This has to be a first. Tozawa has it cinched in, Andrade grabs the top rope for the break. Back elbow lands clean and takes Tozawa to the canvas!
Hoists him up, Tozawa escapes, spin kick to the gut but he collapses. Tries an SOS style kick but Andrade ducks it, Tozawa with a fake-out and then a straight haymaker! But Andrade with a cracking dropkick! Seems to be calling for the Three Amigos but Tozawa blocks the very first one and gets Andrade in a barrage of flash pinfall attempts – nails a Superkick! Tozawa positions Andrade near the corner and goes up top! But Andrade crotches him at the last second. From there, the Draping Hammerlock DDT for the victory!
Winner: Andrade
Good stuff. But as Andrade celebrates his way up the ramp, out come the Street Profits! He gives them a side glance as he makes his leave, kind of curious. Should be noted that Angel and Andrade were meant to challenge for the Raw Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania. This did not end up happening with Austin Theory subbing in for the US Champ in that match. It was strongly implied on the post-Mania Raw that the Profits would continue feuding with Zelina’s band, but last week there wasn’t really any hint of that. Certainly teasing it there though. Anyway Dawkins and Ford will be on commentary for our next match.
