At Wrestlemania 36, we saw Drew McIntyre finally achieve the lofty goals set for him during his debut run within WWE. He was always heralded as a future world champion, and that has become his reality when he took out Brock Lesnar to become WWE Champion last month. Since then, he has defended against The Big Show, and has beaten Andrade & Angel Garza, thus maintaining a perfect winning record in 2020. He is set to face Seth Rollins at Money In The Bank, which will be his first major test as WWE Champion. McIntyre is projected to win that match, as he has been positioned as a top star for WWE to build Monday Night RAW around.
Aleister Black Is Set To Become A Star Alongside Drew McIntyre
There is another man who is getting a similar build, that being Aleister Black. Having only a few losses during his entire run on the WWE main roster, he is set to be a part of the Money In The Bank match later this month. He could walk away with the briefcase and establish himself as a top star as well. With these two potentially big stars being built, could we see a huge WWE Championship match for next years Wrestlemania?
Kurt Angle Thinks This Is A Main Event Level Match
During a quick Q&A session on his Facebook page, WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle would be asked about his thoughts on a dream match between two WWE stars who have never wrestled each other before. These would be Aleister Black & Drew McIntyre, who have faced off outside of WWE for ICW in Scotland, but not within WWE. Kurt Angle had the following to say. “Could be next year Wrestlemania main event. Both are exceptional talents.”
The match would be incredible, as both men wrestle a very physical style while having loads of charisma. Should WWE not choose to do this match at a smaller PPV between now and Wrestlemania 37, it would truly feel like a big deal, especially if McIntyre holds the WWE Championship until that moment. Do you think this match would be a worthy match for Wrestlemania, and would it be big enough to be a main event?
